L'Assiette Anglaise provides Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Bourganeuf town centre with an evening meal and english breakfast option. We have two double rooms en-suite with shower and bath. It has a guest lounge with TV and DVD player. WiFi internet access is available. Guests are welcome to use the garden where you can relax after breakfast or at the end of a day's sight-seeing.

Bourganeuf is a beautiful medieval town dating from the 12th Century and was one of the first towns in France to have electricity. Places to visit include the museum of electrification and churches of Soubrebost and Saint-Jean.

The region is best known for the Limousin cow which is farmed for its meat and is featured on most restaurant menus along with Foie Gras Pâté. Limousin region is very popular among anglers with many well-stocked lakes and rivers. There are also many cycling and walking circuits - details are available at the town's tourist information office.

A continental breakfast is included in the tariff. For those preferring home-cooked English food, we can provide a full English breakfast for 6 euros. We can also provide an excellent evening meal + coffee for 20 euros per person with a bottle of wine per couple. Click here to see sample menus. Bourganeuf Electricity Museum - charts the history of electrification in the region from 1886 to present day.

Les Loups de Chabrieres - an unusual wildlife park dedicated to the wolf. It is set in the Chabrieres forest near Guéret. View the wolves from purpose built observation towers.
